DARLINGS excitedly presents Death of The Six Packs (Prized Possessions) the newest experimental works by Australian artist Wolfgang Saker and the debut of his digital gallery 'absence of value and meaning' (AVM). Created entirely in the hyper-reality of Rust, an online multiplayer survival game, Saker's newest works exist in their original form entirely digitally and can only be made in real time. Cobbled together with a mixture of scavenged digital assets, AVM and the artworks within it are at constant risk of destruction by other users in the game whose reactions to Saker's creativity are completely unknown. Will other gamers embrace the art, obliterate it, or strip it for its resources? AVM exists in a hostile wasteland that parodies the culture wars that devastate online discourse and cultural critique.

Ultimately AVM and Saker's original works evoke a Duchampian satire as Saker's hard work both exists in a creative, post-internet limbo. For this exhibition, Saker streams on popular platform Twitch in order to capture his creative race-against-the-clock. This stream will be exhibited as part of a physical rendition of AVM later this year. Prints of works created during the stream will be made available afterward.

The stream shall begin on Rust and Twitch Saturday 15 June 2-4pm AEST and can be attended in-game at Rustafied.com - AU Long W6 and streamed at twitch.tv/wolfsaker.

Wolfgang Saker (b. 1997 in Eora/Sydney, Australia) uses painting, new technology and digital media to question and critically examine identity in the contemporary, internet-age. Frequently incorporating figurative elements and text, his work draws upon online avatars, virtual realities, absurdity in modern social interactions and a satirical take on popular culture, while still bringing light to the beauty of them in manner inspired by Neo-expressionism.
