Wolfgang Saker
Wolfgang Saker (b. 1997 in Eora/Sydney, Australia) uses painting, digital technology, multimedia, and the moving image to focus on the shrinking difference between the corporeal and the digital and how the absurdity of the internet is leaking into earth. Frequently incorporating figurative elements, text, and surreal nonlinear storytelling, Saker's satirical works draw upon virtual reality, social melancholia, and popular online culture.
Through the creation of nonspecific, yet mesmerising avatars, Saker's works ultimately pose a question to us all: Does it matter if we are corporeal or virtual to be real?
